Andy Mayer

Andy Mayer has served as a Board Member, CFO and quasi-COO of publicly traded and privately held companies, and a private equity firm.

As the CFO of a mid-market private equity firm, Andy managed the finances and reporting of the firm in addition to actively participating in the acquisition and management of the portfolio companies. During his tenure, the firm completed 20 leveraged buy-outs and divestitures having an aggregate value of $1 billion. These transactions included manufacturers of apparel, industrial products and specialty machines, general merchandise and craft retailers, and post-production service providers. Revenues of the portfolio companies ranged from $20 to $300 million.

Andy subsequently joined a publicly traded company as CFO and Board Member. The company's primary business segments operated in regulated industries, specifically environmental services and renewable energy. While there he divested non-core operations and assets, consolidated staff, restructured financial reporting, and successfully resolved complex litigation pertaining to inherited environmental and tax matters, as well as litigation regarding insurance claims and real estate matters.

During this time Andy continued to pursue acquisition opportunities for the company as well as for his personal investment. He completed the acquisition and divestiture of four companies an independent sponsor, co-investing with private equity firms. The companies included manufacturers of valve and hydraulic controls, machining and fabrication shops.

In addition to serving as CFO of the private equity firm, the public company, and of his personal investments, Andy served as CFO of the portfolio companies. When conditions required, he assumed day to day on-site control of their financial management.

In his varied roles, Andy has successfully managed businesses through significant challenges, while seeking growth both organically and through the acquisition of companies and product lines. He is a hands-on leader, capable of adapting quickly to new business environments. He has sourced and financed acquisitions, negotiated with all related parties, conducted due diligence, and managed activities and relationships among private investors, lenders, investment bankers, attorneys, accountants, regulatory agencies, public shareholders, company executives and board members.
